Aboriginal Desert Art

Aboriginal desert art is a stunning expression of Aboriginal culture and history. Aboriginal desert art historically was drawn in the sand, and represented a map of the area. There is an incredible amount of symbolism in Aboriginal desert art, as each shape represents a terrain, person or weapon. The art is drawn in a prospective of looking down onto it. Making an abstract piece of art. Each artist has a unique style, and paints from their own experiences within the Aboriginal culture. Artists also create paintings from the traditional Dreamtime stories. We have new Aboriginal desert art in our gallery each week, so keep checking below to see the new artworks on offer.

Aboriginal Fine Arts Gallery is a founding member of the Australian Indigenous Art Trade Association, which was established to promote the ethical trade of indigenous art.
