Aliara is the daughter of recognised artist, Colleen Wallace and granddaughter of awarded artist, Kathleen Wallace. As is typical of Aboriginal culture, Aliara began painting under the guidance of her mother. This is a cultural practice aimed at handing down Dreamtime stories and culture from generation to generation. Like her mother, Aliara paints with precise dot designs and a vibrant use of colour. Aliara went to school in Mulga Bore, a small Aboriginal community northeast of Alice Springs and spends her time painting in community.
We are also a signatory to the Indigenous Australian Art Commercial Code of Conduct, which was recently introduced to promote fair and transparent dealings within the Industry.
Aboriginal Fine Arts Gallery is a founding member of the Australian Indigenous Art Trade Association, which was established to promote the ethical trade of indigenous art.
